Super 15 Rugby Round 9 Team of the Round - Which Player Impressed You?
Reds winger Rod Davies was the www.testrugby.com Super 15 Rugby Player of Round 9. The speedster was electric against the Chiefs in the Reds upset victory.
There were some impressive performances from some exciting young players with Blues players James Parsons, Steven Luatua and Charles Piutau joining the reliable Chris Noakes in the Super 15 Rugby Team of Round 9.
Luatua plays at loose forward despite being listed as a lock, but both him and Crusader Luke Romano scored plenty of points from lock which is rare.
Australian loose forwards George Smith and Richard Brown showed that experience counts for plenty with strong games.
Gareth Anscombe continues to be impressive for the Chiefs after being surplus to requirements at the Blues for 2013 and is a regular in the Super Rugby team of the round.
Bundee Aki and Joseph Tomani were impressive midfielders (as listed in www.testrugby.com) even though Tomane actually plays on the wing for the Brumbies.
Despite a poor weekend by most New Zealand teams, there are eight kiwis and four Australians in the Super 15 Rugby team of the round. The South Africans didn't make the cut this round!
Before buying the four Blues players who made the Super 15 Rugby Team of the Round, remember that the Blues, Stormers and Rebels have the bye next weekend.

Which player impressed you the most in Super 15 Rugby Round 9? Steven Luatua was my favourite player of the round and looks like an ideal replacement for Jerome Kaino's All Blacks Number Six jersey. He is very physical defender, a great ball carrier and runner and he even takes his fair share of lineout ball.
